Apparently I am not alone in thinking that art school misses the boat when it comes to providing students with necessary practical skills for surviving and prospering as professional artists. Vanessa Bertozzi, Director of Community and Education at Etsy participated in a day of seminars at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I would have eaten this up when I was a student at RISD:
