Volunteer

The compost bin is out of commission while this volunteer squash fills every last nook and cranny.

We don't yet know what it is, but this little round-ish guy has ruled out zucchini and crookneck squash. I'm leaning towards acorn simply because that's what I hope it is. But the odds favor pumpkin; the big, woody, not so edible Halloween kind. Time shall tell.

While this monster mysterio spills out of the bin and sends runners out into the yard, the compost has moved to a makeshift corral to the right of the bin.
