A Walk in the Woods

Fresh air, freezing rain, muddy trails, the sound of ice pinging off my raincoat hood, eyes on the ground to avoid slipping, a seemingly endless canvas of brown reveals a multitude of colors, moss and lichen like beacons of green, miniature feather with a spine of sunshine, unknown berries red and blue, sycamore trunks in whorls of sage and grey with hints of lavender, lengths of climbing vine cut and scattered along the trail edge like giant hairy spider legs, delicate lace of a groundcherry husk, deep breaths, wandering thoughts, renewed and refreshed.

  1. Oh goodness, those words are poetry and those images behold such beauty. Thank you for bringing me along on your walk in the woods... that was really quite lovely!
