Wardrobe Revival: 1 + 1 = 1

A much worn, favorite t-shirt. Disintegrating at the armpits and collar and sporting bleached blobs across the belly from some mystery cleanser or other from the days of tending bar.
A well-liked, but rarely worn baseball style t-shirt. Emblazoned across the chest with a plasticky circle declaring the name of a former place of food service employment. I've blotted out the name because I mean the establishment no harm, I just don't care to be their walking advertisement.
The goal: combine the best of each non-wearable shirt for a single, new favorite wardrobe staple.

Remove the logos from the front and back of the orange shirt. Replace the front logo with the picture from the maroon shirt. Shorten the orange shirt to fit my short torso. (And why have I never shortened a t-shirt before now? I like them to end just above the pockets of my jeans. Given my proportions, they usually end somewhere around the widest part of my bottom and make me look like mangled sausage in its casing. All it takes is a careful chop, a folding under, and a slow run around with a stretchy zig-zag stitch. Done. No more sausage.)

  3. Really love this idea...may have to try this on some of the kids shirts that they are outgrowing but "need" to keep wearing!

    1. Nikki, if you're using a regular sewing machine be sure to use a stretchy stitch or the threads will probably break through wear and tear. Also, A ballpoint or jersey needle is helpful. Good luck!
